Tag Tables

Detailed tagging information is intended for use only by existing self-service clients.

To apply an XBRLExtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) is an XML-based standard for defining and exchanging business and financial performance information. tagA tag renders a value in XBRL, made up of an element, a calendar, numeric units and a member, if needed. to a table value:

  1. In DM Word, check out the report section that contains the table.
  2. In the DM Designer panel, click on the Tagging tab.

Apply the Elements

  1. If Tagging Elements is not displayed, at the bottom of the panel, click Tagging Elements at the bottom of the panel.
  2. Right click on the appropriate top level group, then select Expand All.
  3. In the text of the report, click inside the table to be tagged, for example, the income statement.
  4. Right click on the table, then select View Tagging Table. Alternatively, on the Disclosure Management ribbon, click Tagging, then Tagging Table.
  5. Click on the appropriate elementThe representation of a financial reporting concept, including: line items in the face of the financial statements, important narrative disclosures, and rows and columns in tables. in the DM Designer panel, then drag and drop it onto the row or column of the Tagging Table grid to apply it. When the element is applied, a star icon In-Use Star Icon appears, indicating it is in use.
    • Avoid applying the element onto a single cell, unless the structure requires cell-level tagging.
    • To save time, you can select multiple elements using ctrl+click or shift+click, and apply them all at once.

Apply the Calendars

  1. At the bottom of the DM Designer panel, click Calendars.
  2. Click on the plus signs next to the calendar folders to expand them down to the Quarter level.
  3. Click on the calendar, then drag and drop it onto the appropriate column (or row) of the Tagging Table grid to apply it.
    • For year to date calendars, use ctrl+click or shift+click to select the calendars that make up the period.

Apply Numeric Units

  1. At the bottom of the DM Designer panel, click Numeric UnitsNumeric units such as scale and precision define the size and decimal postition (rounding) of an XBRL tag..
  2. Click on the plus signs to expand the unit types as needed (currency, scale, precision, and/or unit of measure).
    • To show more options, right click on the numeric unit type, then select Edit. Adjust the selection as appropriate, then click OK.
  3. Select all of the applicable numeric units, then and drag and drop them onto the appropriate column (or row) of the Tagging Table grid to apply them.
  4. Click OK to close the Tagging Table grid.
  5. In the Review Details panel on the right side of the screen, review the combined XBRL tag in the Tagging Details section.
