Possible Causes of Hidden Tags

  • A narrative XBRL tag may have this error if its bookmark has shifted so that it no longer exactly matches the placement of the value in the text. Use Show Me and the steps below to verify. Contact your XBRL Accountant for assistance. To prevent creating errors when updating values in the future, see Preserving XBRL Tags.
  • If Alternative Tagging Value is used, it may need to be removed.
  • If the tag is an EDGAR-allowed transformation, it may not be following the transformation rule set. See Transformations.

Review Where the Tag is Placed

  1. Copy the elementThe representation of a financial reporting concept, including: line items in the face of the financial statements, important narrative disclosures, and rows and columns in tables. ID from the text of the EDGAR error.
  2. In DM Word, on the Disclosure Management ribbon, click TaxonomyDictionary-like XBRL classifications that describe the context of data in financial statements and business documents., then Search. A yellow search bar will appear above the taxonomy in the Designer panel.
  3. Paste the element ID into the search bar.
  4. In the search results box, right-click on the appropriate element, then Show in Tagging Elements…
  5. Right-click on the same element in the taxonomy, then select Show Me. Verify whether the highlighting covers the correct text.
