Copy Project
Copying an existing project creates a new project that includes copies of the associated reports and groups. The copied reports retain the same user assignments. Copy Project is the first step in the Roll-Forward process.
Copying Projects
To copy a project, including its reports and groups:
- Click the project cog , then select Copy.
- In the New Project field, enter a new name.
- Project names must be unique within a company.
- See Naming Conventions for Projects, Reports, and Groups for more information.
- Click Submit.
Report Status
To copy a project, all its report must have the status Available or Read Only. If a report is Review Only or Partially Available, the following error message appears. Close the report and then retry.
This project's status is not "Available" and thus cannot be copied at this time. Please ensure no one is working on the given project and try again.
User Access
The Copy Project function is available to the Reporting Manager.
As a Reporting Manager, you can use Copy Project to copy an entire project, along with the reports and groups inside it. This is the first step in rolling forward to the next period. Click the cog, or gear, icon next to the project, then select Copy. Enter the name for your new project, and click Submit. You can see we have the new project, along with copies of all the reports inside. Each report in the project needs to have the status Available or Read Only in order to be copied. Otherwise, you'll see this error message. Make sure each report is checked in, then retry.
